Where to order an Asian tray in Paris? Our selection

1. L'Écrin Traiteur's Asiatique tray

Transparency: this is our tray, so our opinion is not neutral. It brings together five recipes: makis, California rolls, spring rolls, gyozas and yakitori skewers, with soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. Everything can be picked up with the fingertips. Like our entire menu, it is halal and pork-free, which matters for gyozas, as they may contain pork elsewhere. 2. Charbon Kunitoraya, for yakitori

At 5 rue Villedo, in the 1st arrondissement, this restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide selection. Its speciality: yakitori made with Bresse chicken. An address for a team dinner, not for delivery to the office.

3. Gyoza Bar, for gyozas

Described by Le Bonbon as the first Paris restaurant specialising in gyozas, it has two addresses: 56 passage des Panoramas (2nd arrondissement) and 38 rue de Saintonge (3rd arrondissement). The gyozas are homemade, steamed then grilled.

4. Sushi Shop, for delivered sushi boxes

The chain delivers sushi platters ordered online, for example a 23-piece box. Handy for a small group; for 30 or 50 people, you have to multiply the boxes and open them one by one.

How to recognise a good Asian tray?

How many pieces to plan and what budget for 10, 20 or 50 people?

For end-of-day drinks, allow 4 to 6 pieces per person per hour. A 2-hour after-work event therefore needs 8 to 12 pieces per person; if it replaces dinner, go up to 16 to 18 pieces.
