Aged cheeses and halal charcuterie for company drinks: the best cheesemongers in Paris and our tray

Dried beef, bresaola, Grisons air-dried beef, smoked turkey and chicken, aged cheeses: the MOF cheesemongers of Paris, how to recognise good beef charcuterie, and the budget for drinks for 10, 20 or 50 people.

For company drinks in Paris where everyone can help themselves, the ideal board combines aged cheeses and halal beef and poultry charcuterie: dried beef, bresaola, Grisons air-dried beef, smoked turkey and smoked chicken. For cheese, the Paris benchmarks are the houses run by Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, Laurent Dubois and Quatrehomme. At L'Écrin Traiteur, we deliver both trays ready to serve, from 6:30 am, and the charcuterie is halal and pork-free, at no extra cost.

Our selection for cheese and charcuterie drinks

1. L'Écrin Traiteur's trays

Transparency: these are our products, so our opinion is not neutral.

  • Charcuteries Artisanales: dried beef, bresaola, Grisons air-dried beef, smoked turkey and smoked chicken, rolled and arranged by hand, with green olives and fresh grapes. Halal and pork-free, delivered in a wooden tray, ready to set in the middle of the table. Price on quote.
  • Fromages Affinés: a selection of varied aged cheeses, with fresh fruit and artisan bread to build each bite. Price on quote.

These are the two trays to set side by side: one without meat, the other halal and pork-free, like our entire savoury menu, at no extra cost. We do not claim a halal certification. A single board is enough for a team with different eating habits.

2. Laurent Dubois, Meilleur Ouvrier de France cheesemonger

Laurent Dubois is a Meilleur Ouvrier de France and makes ageing the heart of his craft, in cellars where temperature and humidity are controlled. Four shops in Paris: 97-99 rue Saint-Antoine (4th arrondissement), 47 ter boulevard Saint-Germain (5th arrondissement), 2 rue de Lourmel (15th arrondissement) and 58 rue d'Auteuil (16th arrondissement).

3. Quatrehomme, rue de Sèvres and four other addresses

In 2000, at the first edition of the competition devoted to cheesemaking, Marie Quatrehomme became the first woman cheesemonger to be named Meilleur Ouvrier de France. The house has four shops in Paris: 62 rue de Sèvres (7th arrondissement), 26 rue des Martyrs (9th arrondissement), 4 rue du Rendez-vous (12th arrondissement) and 32 rue de l'Espérance (13th arrondissement), plus one in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

4. For halal charcuterie: benchmarks rather than addresses

As of 17 October 2026, we have not found a Paris halal charcutier recognised by a competition or an established guide. Rather than naming an address at random, here are the official benchmarks for the two best-known beef charcuteries:

CharcuterieOfficial benchmarkWhat it guarantees
Bresaola della Valtellina PGIEuropean Union protected geographical indicationBeef aged 2 to 4 years, from the leg, produced in the province of Sondrio (Lombardy)
Viande des Grisons PGISwiss PGI, registered on 24 September 1999Curing, drying and pressing in the canton of Graubünden; north of the Alps, drying above 800 m altitude
Smoked turkey and chickenNo designationJudge by the ingredient list and the origin of the poultry

A halal version is made from meat slaughtered according to the rite: ask the supplier where it comes from, as the PGI label says nothing about slaughter.

How to recognise a good cheese and charcuterie board?

CriterionWhat to look for
Variety of cheesesSeveral families: pressed, bloomy rind, goat's cheese, blue. A single type soon becomes tiresome.
AgeingA cheese at its peak, served at room temperature: taken out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving.
The charcuterieThin slices, rolled or folded, that can be picked up with the fingers; a clear colour, no dry edges.
InclusionHalal beef and poultry, no pork: one board for everyone.
AccompanimentsArtisan bread, fresh fruit, olives: they are what keeps the board going through an after-work event.

How much to plan and what budget for 10, 20 or 50 people?

Our cheese and charcuterie trays are priced on quote, depending on numbers. For a budget at catalogue prices, the simplest option is a sharing menu that includes them: Le Parisien (€37.90 excl. VAT per person) contains the artisan charcuterie tray with a turkey and Emmental club sandwich and a curry chicken mini baguette; Le Méditerranéen (€37.50 excl. VAT per person) contains the aged cheese tray. Delivery €29 excl. VAT.

For a single board alongside a cocktail reception, request a quote: we adjust the size of the tray to your numbers. The choice between a buffet and a cocktail reception is covered in sharing buffet or cocktail reception, and dietary needs in inclusive halal, vegetarian, gluten-free menu and halal company caterer in Paris.
